2011 American Eagle Silver Coins At 75% Premium To Paper

All those who have been long awaiting the release of the 2011 American Eagle Silver coins by the US Mint can now relax. America's official source of bullion will release the much anticipated 2011 edition tomorrow at noon, with a strict limit of 100 coins per household at the low, low price of...$59.95! Gotta love that physical-paper spread... It is almost as good as the gold-tungsten compression pair trade.

  1. Ooooohhhh...shiny. Does/will it really make a difference in the future, if one is holding coins/rounds with lady liberty when cashing in? Think I'll stick to purchasing whatever scrap I can get my hands on. Got a good handful of 1 oz. silver rounds earlier this year stamped with various logos of the casinos in Vegas....funny money it ain't!...

  4. Same as the guy in mall trying to sell 2010 maples for $70!

  5. You can still by a regular silver eagle for around $40.00. This article is very misleading as it hints at an actual premium of 75%, which is barely 10% on Ebay or various sites APMEX, etc. In Chicago 5% at coins shops so there truly is no spread when you consider business have to have a bid and ask to keep the lights on. But let's not let the facts get in the way of a good story.

  6. Call me an idiot, but why by proofs?

  7. You wouldn't buy proofs if you believe this website because if paper becomes worthless you will want the most ounces you can get for your reserve notes. I'll say it again...those that live in a world where there is a huge spread between the Comex price and a regular 1 ounce silver round most likely talk about guns as if they will triple in price also in the coming years. If you live in an actual city...not in the southern hick filled USA..and near an actual dealer in Chicago, New York, Boston, there is no spread when considering costs. Sorry people...but it's true. I can even give you a number to call at Chicago Coin...but in general conspiracy people don't want to know facts.

  8. Mike, you might want to hedge after todays ugly, ugly bar. 50% retracement is 572, basis Sept. futures. Not a good time seasonally either.

  9. for all you retards ripping on kioyaski why don't you do your research? the man has been talking about silver and gold since 2006!!! The man is a financial genius!

    get a clue.

  10. I'm simply saying...who will step up and call Chicago Coin and ask them what their premium is...or do you people not want to know the truth? I fully understand that if your in an rural area that it may be more difficult to attain silver...but in the real world it's not. I think silver is truly a solid investment but if you think there is a huge spread you simply don't want to know facts.

  11. @PaidInGold Well said, I was just making the point that if my dealer gets silver, turns it into rounds and barely sells it over spot...the people on this site are in a dream world. Silver and gold have been great investments, no doubt...but you could have just as easily bought other commodities and done just as well.

  12. Im thinking of buying some Buffalo rounds. Should I buy Silver Eagles instead?

  13. I think SGS would say just get the most silver for every dollar you spend. If things end the way SGS seems to think it won't matter if your holding a silver eagle or a silver spoon.

  16. Advice anyone?

I'm timing another phyzz pickup here for me and mi mamasita, been watching carefully and may or may not have gotten too greedy hoping for Silver around 30, Gold around 1480. (I am also watching oil for a big buy inside the 80's).

My question: Do you think I just missed out? Or am I wise, not greedy, to wait a bit more this summer?

P.S...I won't be mad if y'all tell me it's not about timing this shit when you like it long term as much as we all do.

  17. I have a certain amount of Eagles just for ultimate trust/recognition purposes when the shit hits. I know junk is where it's at for day-to-day dealings, but if/when you ever run into a douche who demands something like a sparkly eagle no doubt the bastard is going to have something you really need that you forgot to stock up on!

  18. for all the negative we spout, I have told some of you but I have worked with kids all my life, and every year since I got this video off ESPN, I have shared it with them ... I just found it on YT, i guess it's been there for a while ... share it with your kids and loved ones ... best thing I have ever seen for inspiration, and trust me, I have seen plenty ... bring your hankies.

  21. I still worry that US may decide to confiscate US minted coinage. So I purchase maples or 1 oz rounds. I was going to purchase the larger 100 oz bars. However the price is the same , so why bother.

I do collect the 1 kilo coins, i think they are my favorite and the cost is not to terrible.

  22. Robert: If you are afraid of holding silver if its illegal, I'm not quite sure you know exactly why you are holding it in the first place ;)
Buy whatever you want. When TSHTF, it wont matter. Just make sure you dont have a paper trail. Burry it, and hope you never have to use it.

  23. @spencer Here is the number. (773) 586-4296. Ask about 100 ounce bars, rounds, and eagles and notice outside of eagles the premium is very low.
